The front of Louis Bromfield's house.
This is the front room where Humphrey and Lauren exchanged vows and had the wedding reception. They stood right in the center part of the two staircases!
This was Louis Bromfield's wife's bedroom. The two actually slept in different rooms, but not because they didn't like each other. It was because Louis was an insomniac and would only sleep 4-5 hours a night.
This is just a little peak at some of the 4,000 books Louis had all around in his house. Jeez, the man was like a public library!
Lauren and Humphrey spent their wedding night and honeymoon in this room! All around the room there was pictures of the two displayed, and also collages of different pictures from their wedding. I do have to wonder, how did that work with the two separate beds ...?
This is the beautiful living room that Louis had in the Malabar house. I don't know if you can see, but at the top of the mirror is an eagle and some stars surrounding it. There was a star for every state on the mirror, but when a state did something that Louis didn't like, he would take off a star! There's supposed to be 48 stars on the mirror, but there are only 41!
The dining room of the house. The chandelier is from France and around 200 years old! The table also stretches out to seat 18 people because Louis ALWAYS had friends and guests staying at the house.
Beside the dining room there is a a brightly lit little porch area. It was here that Lauren and Humphrey cut their wedding cake! On the table was a replica of their cake, and also some pictures of that day. Usually, however, in this little area Louis hung cages with birds inside! There is a drain on the floor and a place for a hose so that the...discharge...of the birds could be disposed of easily!
How cool is this old telephone!?
Louis' pinstripe suit and boots from the 1940's. Gah... even vintage men's clothes I drool over!
The next few photos are just pictures of Louis' family and pictures of actresses that were displayed throughout his house. I just fell in love with all the old charm and beauty of them all!
Thanks so much for reading everyone! I hope I didn't bore you too much ;) I'd also like to give out a little shout out and thank you to blogger the other girl who gave me the lovely award of Stylish Blogger! I've already received the award twice, but I'm still just as honored and flattered.
Take care, and see you all tomorrow!
